Our Staff
Dr. Ping Chen received his PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1991. He worked at the University of Washington as a postdoc and at NOAA/CIRES as a research scientist on troposphere-stratosphere interaction, stratospheric transport and mixing, and the dynamics of planetary-scale waves. Dr. Chen has been involved in the sales and development of atmospheric and environmental instrumentation since 2004. He founded Handix Scientific in 2015. In his free time Ping enjoys hiking, traveling, and photographing.
Dr. Ezra Levin is an expert in aerosol instrumentation. He has extensive experience with both real-time and filter-based instrumentation designed to measure aerosol size, concentration, composition, optical properties and cloud nucleating ability which he has operated during numerous laboratory and field studies. His current focus is on measurements of ice nucleating particles. He has a PhD in Atmospheric Science from Colorado State University and a BS in Meteorology from Millersville University. In his limited free time Ezra is an avid cyclist and occasionally a rock climber.
Bryan Rainwater is a scientific engineer who specializes in atmospheric instrumentation and software development. His particular background is in laser absorption spectroscopy and radiative transfer as applied to the ground up development of both aircraft and ground based instrumentation for measurements of cloud water and aerosol chemistry. He has his PhD in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from the University of Colorado Boulder and has a B.S. in Physics, Atmospheric Science, and Applied Mathematics from the University of Nevada Reno. In his free time, he likes to play musical instruments, attempts to play sports, and caters to the needs of his feline overlords!

Tom Ramin, spent most of the 25 years of his career as an R&D and design engineer in the vacuum thin film capital equipment and scientific instrumentation industries. His professional interests are product development and commercialization as well as engineering simulations. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University. He has a wife and two daughters and in his spare time likes to train to run next Marathon, which is way too hard for him.
